"They are not there to help you. The simplest project, they will make sure you pay as much as possible. I find they do not have a good understanding of the regulations, they are unreasonable, and they do not know the city they work for. If you can, stay away from the city hall's board of health and conservation department. I hope to God in 10 years, the whole department gets changed out to workers you find at the state level, which I find are very knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. I will not be submitting any permits until that happens. I am not leaving either. They should leave. They work for us. We pay the taxes that pays them."
