Crosstown Trail Wellesley, MA

"A wide, shady path that is great for dog walking, it hooks into the large network of trails through Wellesley. There are a few parking spots off Weston Road near the water treatment plant — not well marked but look for the small signs with green arrows."

"Most beautiful recreation area. The Trail starts on Worcester Street (Route 9) about 100 meters East of Jarvis Appliance Store. The entrance to the Trail is a very narrow path without any signs and it is very easy to miss it. You cannot stop the car on Route 9 and the last chance to stop (but not to park) is at CVS, Nissan, and Jarvis stores. The official name of the Trail is Crosstown Trail (but nobody knows it). South from Route 9, the Trail is in 3 parts, about 10 minutes walk each. The first part of the trail is by Morses Pond and is most beautiful. The other 2 parts are in the green area. The Trail ends at Weston Road with a bridge over the railroad to Central Street, Wellesley Collage, and the city hall. After the second part of the Trail, turning South, the Morses Pond Access Road will take you to the Morses Pond Beach. This “subtrail” is along the car road, usually not busy. Please note that there is a barrier on this road which may be closed after you enter the road. The Trail usually is not busy and is mostly used for outdoor activities and a kind of unorganized walking path from Wellesley College and Wellesley Train Station to Natick and Route 9."
