As a cornerstone of the UMassD community, Unity Park offers more than just a tranquil outdoor setting; it is home to the Frederick Douglass Unity House, an intercultural center dedicated to empowering and transforming the student experience.

At Unity House, we are committed to challenging, fostering, and enriching the cultural life of the UMassD community. With a particular emphasis on supporting the academic, cultural, recreational, and social pursuits of ALANA students—African/Black, Latin@/Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American/Indigenous—and their social justice allies, we strive to create a supportive and engaging environment for all.

Our facilities include a Computer Lab/Common Space, open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 10 pm and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, providing a perfect blend of functionality and comfort for study, collaboration, or relaxation. Moreover, Unity House serves as an introduction to various aspects of leadership and civic responsibility, nurturing a new generation of informed and engaged citizens.
