Reviews of Le Macaron French Pastries Cambridge
"TLDR: Save your dollars and your dignity; this place is a no-go - overpriced, underwhelming, and about as welcoming as a porcupine at a balloon party. If you're looking for a pastry experience that's more "sacrebleu" than "magnifique," this is your spot. Imagine walking into a place expecting to be whisked away to the charming streets of Paris, only to find yourself in a budget bakery's bad dream. Macarons: These were not the delicate, ethereal treats one dreams of. No, these were the kind of macarons that would make you question if you've accidentally wandered into a dollar store's pastry section. Yet, here they were, flaunting premium prices like they were the Marie Curie of macarons. Coffee: A whopping $6.50 for something that tasted like it was brewed in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower... if the Eiffel Tower was located in a gas station convenience store. If unwelcoming had a flavor, it would be the air in Le Macaron. It's like walking into a party where you're not only not invited but are actively resented for showing up. The whole experience was less "bonjour" and more "au revoir" to my expectations of a pleasant afternoon."
"Wet cakey cookie (undercooked?) with very thin cream filling. Not good. The woman came and unlocked the door when she saw us, but was overall seemed pretty unenthusiastic to have customers."
"Delicious macaroons. About $18 for six, so $3 ish each. They also have Ghyslain chocolates, which are delicious. They only have two dark chocolates, but they are delicious! Parking is very limited (none on the street out front). You have to enter the bank entrance and then turn right. There is no front door on the street. There is also gelato (could be ice cream I don’t remember). There is Stash tea and a variety of coffees too. There are eclairs, brownies, lemon bars, meringues, and more."
"My favorites are lavender white chocolate and pumpkin fall. There is a think layer of moist filling and the flavors really stand out. The peanut butter jelly one is surprisingly delightful, too. The rose, mango, and strawberry key lime ones barely had any flavor. Nearly $20 for 6 little macarons was a little pricy, especially when the box doesn’t even have individual holder for these macarons to be securely transported. A couple of mine were a little crumbled on the way home."
