"I like independent auto. Tom in sales is very helpful and friendly. The cars are reliable and fairly priced. TM"
"I bought a car from independent in January. However, I waited for 3&1/2 months to be sure the review would be fair. The person I dealt with was extremely unprofessional, as if he had no experience in selling cars. I can't remember his name, maybe Thomas or Tom. Anyway, I paid for the car on a Thursday and he suggested a Monday morning pickup, and I agreed. On Monday morning, I called to check if I could come and get the vehicle, but there was no answer. I waited for an hour and called again, but still no answer. So, I decided to go there assuming that they should have prepared the vehicle by closing time on Saturday since I was supposed to pick it up on Monday morning. They were supposed to do some work on it. However, when I arrived, the car was not ready. They claimed that due to the snowstorm on Sunday, they couldn't do the work and have the vehicle ready. Now, let me remind you that the vehicle should have been worked on and ready by closing time on Saturday since they are closed on Sundays. Anyway, I was really upset and I made it clear to them. They told me to come back the next day for the vehicle. When I returned, no work had been done on the car except for the removal of the canoe rack from the top. The car was sold to me with the rack, and no one mentioned otherwise, so I expected it to be there. I questioned this, and he told me that it didn't come with the vehicle. I told him that no one had informed me about it, and it was there when I paid for the car. Later, when I went back for the rack, someone else at the dealership told me that they removed it because the vehicle was apparently "double sold" and the other buyer lived in my area, so they didn't want them to see it driving around town. This whole situation seems really shady. At this time I decided to inspect the AC, I began to feel uneasy about the vehicle. It seemed to me that the air wasn't cooling properly. The salesman mentioned that since it was winter, I wouldn't feel the cold, which I found to be quite absurd. As expected, the AC was not functioning. I took the vehicle and requested to be notified when the wheel well cover arrived so I could collect it and handle the installation myself. On the first day of driving the vehicle, I heard a clunking noise coming from the front passenger side, as if something was about to burst through the dashboard. The following day, when I went to get the cover, I mentioned this noise to him. He test-drove the vehicle but claimed he didn't hear anything. I took it to a mechanic, and it turned out to be an issue with the strut assembly, which both sides needed to be replaced. I had to cover the cost of installing the well cover, replacing the serpentine belt, and fixing the AC. He had previously mentioned what a great deal the vehicle was. However, it only seemed like a good deal until I had to invest two thousand dollars into it within the first week of owning it. Considering the price I paid and the subsequent repairs, I could have purchased a much newer vehicle elsewhere instead of settling for a 2007 model. I anticipate that he will suggest I should have returned to his shop for the repairs. However, I preferred to ensure that the work was done correctly, promptly, and safely, rather than waiting for an extended period and risking subpar quality work. After investing a significant amount of money into the vehicle, in addition to the purchase price, I can confidently say that I now have a decent vehicle for its age. However, it was my own funds that went into repairing it and taking it to a trustworthy mechanic. If you are seeking a reliable and transparent car dealership, this is not the one for you. In the past, I have always purchased my vehicles from Ultra Auto Sales in Cumberland, where they have consistently provided excellent service and honesty regarding the condition of the vehicles. Unfortunately, they did not have the specific vehicle I needed this time, leading me to make a decision I now regret. This experience has taught me to stick with what I know is reliable in the future."
"I purchased a Hyundai Genesis at independent auto in 2019. I traded the car, and there was a warranty remaining on it. I had to go through Independent Auto to cash in the remainder of it. I spoke with the owner twice, and his assistant three times. Every time they told me they were going to call me back after they looked into it. They never called me back. Keep away from this dealership they are very shady."
"Peter and the crew here were phenomenal. We purchased a car for my daughter and Peter went above and beyond to answer all our questions and assisted us with all the paperwork. The car was ready for delivery in just a few short days and they even put a big bow on it to surprise my daughter! I would definitely recommend independent auto sales and I would most certainly purchase another car from them in the future"
"Awesome dealership. Peter was great, he actually treat his customers like human being. I bought a Nissan Altima hybrid from Peter for very low price, without me asking him, he took the initiative to change the water pumps and oil to make to delivering to me a nice vehicle. The car runs like a dream. I know to put "used car salesman" and "integrity" in one sentence seems like an oxymoron, but that was my exact experience with Peter. God bless him!"
