Welcome to Floating Tower Refugee & Immigrant Artists Retreat

Located at 1 Chase Hill, North Adams, Massachusetts, the Floating Tower Refugee & Immigrant Artists Retreat is a sanctuary and creative hub designed to empower artists from immigrant and refugee backgrounds. Established as an extension of our work in Manhattan's Blue Building since 2016, our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where artists can thrive, collaborate, and innovate.

In response to the challenges faced by many artists during the pandemic—particularly those on Artist Visas or under Asylum status—Floating Tower has expanded its vision. We are dedicated to creating a supportive space in the Berkshires that fosters artistic expression and project development for immigrant and refugee artists, especially musicians.

Our retreat offers year-round residencies that serve as both a laboratory for Floating Tower’s original work and a platform for artists from diverse backgrounds to bring their projects to life. Since our soft launch in the summer of 2022, we have been exploring various residency formats to best support the creative needs of our artists. These residencies are entirely free of charge and are offered by invitation only, allowing us to tailor our support to the specific needs of each artist.
