About the Sheep Hill
Welcome to Sheep Hill, a captivating tourist attraction nestled in the scenic town of Williamstown, Massachusetts. Located at the heart of the Berkshires, Sheep Hill offers visitors a unique opportunity to connect with nature and explore the rich cultural heritage of the region.
At Sheep Hill, we are proud to collaborate with TerraCorps, an organization dedicated to fostering an ecosystem of people and organizations that prioritize community land ownership, access, and stewardship. Together, we strive to support a diversity of interests that benefit both human health and environmental sustainability.
As you explore the trails and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes, we invite you to reflect on the history of this land. We acknowledge with gratitude and humility that we are learning, speaking, hiking, and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Mohican people, the Indigenous people of this area. Despite facing tremendous hardship and being forced from their homeland, the Mohican community today resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We honor and respect their ancestors, past and present, and are committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable space for all.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful hike, a chance to learn about local history, or simply a beautiful spot to relax and take in the views, Sheep Hill is a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike. We look forward to welcoming you to this special place and sharing its natural beauty and cultural significance with you.

Reviews of Sheep Hill
"The views here are amazing! Back when I was a student at Williams, this was one of my favorite places to enjoy a run. The trails are well maintained and easy to access. Weather makes this route pleasant for only a few months of the year, but in the summer, this place is a true beauty. I have so many good memories here and think fondly of it whenever I reminisce about my days in the Purple Valley."
"Beautiful pastoral views from Sheep Hill trails. Trails’ grass could be cut shorter, otherwise ticks could be a possibility."
"A wonderful spot with beautiful views. Brought back memories of my grandfather's farm in rural Connecticut. It's wonderful that it's being preserved for generations to come. Highly recommended."
"This is a small but beautiful spot. It was a perfect little area for a picnic. We enjoyed learning about the wet lands and enjoying nature and how peaceful it was."
"This place is amazing! It has a beautiful walking path and buildings that you may explore. The buildings will give you a lot of info on what it was like for a cow farmer in the day. The path has 2 spots that squish under your feet and the path is a little hilly on the way up. But the views are breath taking. Remember to stop on the way up the hills, one to catch your breath ( if your a smoker like me), but also to look back at the views this trail has to offer!"
