"After a horrible experience at another restaurant where my group left without finishing food we went to Que Mas Restaurant for dinner. What a night and day experience! We told our server about our bad experience and she immediately expressed her desire to help us recover our night. Kelsey was amazing and so helpful. She made recommendations on the menu and was honest about what was good and what was not as popular. She was super attentive and had a great personality! Kelsey also told the chefs about our earlier bad experience at the first restaurant and both came by to speak with us about our experience. We felt seen, heard and well served. The food was delicious! Sorry for no pics, but we loved the mussels in coconut broth. The sauce was so good you could drink it! We also loved the arepa and the steak which you could cut with a butter knife. The cocktails were on point - the watermelon martini and espresso martini were fabulous. I will definitely be going back!"
"First - was not expecting such a beautiful atmosphere. Second - our waiter, Josh, was incredible with helping us decide which meals to indulge in and the drinks to pair, and the description of each meal had us mouth watering! Starters: Shishito peppers Drinks: El diablo margarita 1 special - cranberry/ginger beer cocktail (amazing) Albariño wine Mains: Brick chicken, spanish rice, sweet plantain, salsa Pork chuleta, white rice, arugula salad The dishes were cooked to perfection. The tenderness of the meat and flavor was outstanding. The rice could have been Uncle Ben’s and I wouldn’t know the difference. I think they play it safe with the rice as it’s of lacking authenticity but provides a subtle balance with the flavor of meats & sides. We’re looking forward to coming back here! Swordfish and Steak mains are next to try!"
"I’ve been here a few times and try something new each visit. I have to say, the food is just as delicious and the service is phenomenal! The drinks are top notch and every tasty morsel from appetizers to dessert is fantastic. The music is always on point and Quelsi our waitress is very friendly and knowledgeable when asked about the menu and for recommendations. I brought my family tonight and everyone tried something different and their tastebuds exploded! Definitely the place to go when you want a great atmosphere, delicious food and drinks and excellent service."
"Saturday night at the new “Latin” restaurant in town. Arrival: Checking in was seamless. The host was friendly and accommodating. We were promptly seated, and a busser immediately offered us water. After receiving our water, we waited around 10 minutes. It turned out our server was unaware he was assigned to our table. Once he realized, he came over and apologized, showing a friendly and attentive demeanor. Drinks: We ordered a couple of drinks: a Pisco, which was good, and a Blushing 75 Mocktail, which was also enjoyable. Appetizers: - Grilled Sweet Plantain: The plantains were perfect, and the combination of salsa, crema, and crispy fried shallots elevated the dish. It was the highlight of our meal. Rating: 8/10. - Ceviche de “Peru”: Unfortunately, this dish fell short. It resembled a poor American version of ceviche rather than an authentic Peruvian one. It lacked freshness and traditional elements like choclo and cancha. It seemed pre-made, with chips hastily added before serving. Rating: 4/10. - Sweet Corn “Arepa”: This was disappointing. It didn’t resemble an arepa from Colombia or Venezuela but rather a subpar American cornbread. It appeared frozen and reheated, with burrata placed on top. It was hard to eat, falling apart and cold in the middle. Rating: 3/10. Main Courses: - Burrata Ravioli: This dish was decent. While the burrata flavor was somewhat subdued, the pasta was al dente and tasted good. Rating: 7/10. - Bavette Steak: This dish was overly salted, overshadowing the rest of the flavors. It was unfortunate because the presentation was appealing. The soft polenta was good, albeit salty due to the steak. The fresh tomatoes were perhaps the best part of the dish. It felt as if the steak had been seasoned twice. Rating: 4/10. Overall: The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance with good music and service, though the food was overpriced and unremarkable. The only genuinely Latin aspects were the sweet plantain and the music. There’s nothing compelling enough to make us want to return."
"I cannot believe I have a restaurant as insanely delicious as Que Mas a 10 minute walk from my home. My husband and I went here on a Saturday night, we were a little early for our reservation but they let us sit down anyway. We got to meet the incredibly talented chef/owner Alex. He saw us drooling over the art work around the restaurant and told us that it is all from his personal collection. I snapped a pic of my favorite piece. He’s very down to earth considering how talented he is. We had a really sweet, bubbly, and attentive waiter named Kelsey, she took good care of us. We split the sweet corn arepa topped with burrata and sun dried tomato pesto. I could’ve easily eaten 3 of those by myself, so good. Best arepa I’ve ever had. For my main I tried the Bavette steak with soft polenta with crispy chorizo corn nuts and fresh green tomato on the side. I have been dreaming about this meal ever since I’ve experienced it. I’m a good girl and enjoy my steak medium rare, it was cooked to perfection. The chorizo wasn’t overpowering, all of the ingredients worked so well with each other to create this incredible meal. I think my husband got the chicken dish, and he was absolutely mesmerized by it. The drinks were good too! The bartender even hooked me up with a drink that she created for the night that didn’t taste like alcohol, it was great! Overall this is an absolutely phenomenal restaurant to have in Beverly, and it is definitely being placed in our delicious restaurant rotation."
