Reviews of Birds of Paradise
"Extremely overpriced for pretty average food. The vibes are great and the drinks are eccentric as fun, but everything went down hill from there. Our server forgot about us so we had to have the host alert him to take our order, after sitting down for 30/45 minutes, then took our order on his cellphone. Then our food was delivered one at a time for each person over the span of 10 minutes, with our appetizers coming out last. The food was good, but nothing spectacular for the price they are charging. It once again took a while to get the server to come back to check in and to get the check and to pay. Meanwhile the host kept walking by with his keys on his hip he kept dragging through my hair… one time I would forgive but two times, be mindful of where you are walking, my hair is not that big that you should be dragging your key’s through."
"This place is a vibe! My wife and I came here for dinner and drinks before going to a show at The Roadrunner. The atmosphere, food, and drinks were amazing! The bartender, Nathi took great care in preparing our drinks and explaining the ingredients. She made perfect recommendations based on our individual drink preferences and it paired nicely with our delicious meals. This place is a hidden gem and deserves all 5 stars! We will absolutely be returning."
"I went to Birds of Paradise for my birthday. The entrance is a bit hidden, but it plays to the hole-in-the-wall vibes. The inside is a basement-turned bar with a very intimate ambiance and modern decor. I really liked the interesting concept for the cocktails: fusing flavors from two destinations. The drinks were all very good; I could taste all of the ingredients that were listed for the drinks that I got. However, the alcohol was not heavy, and some drinks had too much ice. I also got the tekka don, which was expensive and not filling, but it tasted fresh. Overall, Birds of Paradise is worth the visit for the experience, and I recommend sticking to the drinks rather than food."
"The drinks are so creative and delicious! The handrolls were so yummy. The fish was so fresh we tried the tuna, scallop, spicy salmon and the eel with truffle oil. I couldn’t pick a favorite they were all so good!"
"If you’re looking for a romantic date, this is definitely a new place to try it out! I love the idea of cocktails that named and inspired by destinations around the world. They really put your heart in and all the cocktails that we ordered were definitely appealing. The only thing is - they are really sweet, I was hoping for some non-sweet cocktails but unfortunately I couldn’t find one."
