"His work is on a level that is most likely not found anywhere else in the Boston metropolitan area. He has done excellent work for me on a variety of different shoes - rubber-soled espadrilles, split-toed blake-stitched Margiela Tabis, Goodyear welted bespoke boots, you name it. Each and every time the results are impeccable. I’m a stickler for good cobblers and I’m sure that there might be better cobblers in other bigger cities. But in BOSTON, I would probably not trust any other cobbler —no matter how high their ratings are— with my footwear more than Jamal at Santacross. Simple as."

"I am just ecstatic with the work the owner completed! I took in an old pair of 10+ yr old boots to get souped up as a surprise for my partner. The boots needed completely new soles and mid soles. There was also some stitching that had come loose on both of the back heels. They were looking worse for wear to say the least. He replaced the sole with an even better one than before, spruced up and polished the leather, and I’m shooketh at how great these boots look! He was incredibly kind too and stayed open a bit longer past 5pm when I was stuck in the red line. I am so grateful for his craftsmanship in an increasingly rare art, and I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a cobbler."

"Jamal practices what is in our world a total rarity: artistic craftsmanship. He is truly an artist of the trade. People today throw out shoes and buy news ones. My favorite shoes, a pair of Tod's loafers I bought many years ago, had the sole worn out and couldn't be used any more, I took them to Tod's and they said they don't repair their shoes and recommended Jamal's shop. He restored them to perfection. In addition, he is true gentleman. So I could not recommend him more highly. If you have any shoes you love and want restored, nobody could do it better than him."
