RARE 297 Steakhouse

"Two separate visits. First one on a Saturday night. They were super busy. After 15-20 mins of wait on the table with our reservation. We just left feeling disappointed without being served or acknowledged. We felt the price on the menu VS the service definitely did not match. Second time visit was after a bunch of friends insisted to go try this new establishment in town so I gave it a second chance on a Wednesday night. It was way less crowded. We were acknowledged right away from door to seat. Staff were very friendly, attentive and quickly we were all seated with water and menus and introductions of the restaurant. We have a party of 10 people. All ordered drinks and appetizer plus food. Drinks were relatively slow to come but they do taste amazing. You can tell Bartender made her effort to make sure we all had good drinks. Appetizers were delicious especially the crab cake and sushi rolls. Calamari was a bit too greasy but overall great taste. Our server was very helpful on all of our requests and accommodated us professionally. She made a few small mistakes I am sure it was bcz the background noise made her forgot who got what kind of drinks. But that was not our concern at all. We totally understand and appreciate her efforts. Now it comes to main fish. All steaks, fish meals , side dishes were matching the price we paid for those items. But we all have the same thoughts once we see the plates they used to serve food. Maybe it is the lighting we had. We would like to suggest that Rare297 to change their plates for steaks: a bigger plate instead of salad type of plate. And a more bright colored plate instead dark grey or brown. Bcz it really did not show the dimensions of the amazing food on the plate. As for background music playlist. I do believe a longer list of songs will be more fun instead of hearing the same 6 songs over and over and over for the 3 hours of our time there. Overall. Second time visit was way better than my first time. And I will recommend to friends and colleagues and go back again for the massive list of main dishes that I wanted to try."

"It's best to have a reservation. It's a busy place with excellent food! The service was a bit slow, but they did just open, and they really did their best to accommodate. The casinos were flavorful and delicious. I would definitely order that as an appetizer again. The main dish was shredded short ribs wrapped in a crepe with this amazing sauce. TO DIE FOR!!!! Every bite was good. Thw Lobster Bisque was flavorful with chunks of lobster meat. I'm looking forward to going many times and eating more off the menu. Great job!"

"We went on night two of their opening. Santiago was our waiter and did a fantastic job. The lobster bisque had chunks of lobster in it and was delicious as were the oysters. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi which had asparagus,artichoke hearts and parm risotto- it was a 20 on a scale of 1-10 My fiancée ordered the Bronzino and his only complaint was that it was not crispy skinned as promised on the menu.Fish was great otherwise as were his sides. We ordered cheesecake for dessert and was good. Our “complaints” are that myself and the table next to us were served our soups with no spoon and had to wait a bit to receive one,the bread basket was horrible- a huge chunk of the end of a loaf and one skinny piece and a plastic container of butter..for all that bread,..we had a assumed butter balls or little pallets of butter and decent bread . We also got the Rare 297 salad which is pretty much a caprese with prosciutto and we were not impressed,certainly not for what we paid. And we had ordered wine and a Jack and ginger- both Jack drinks were not the same tasting,both were not Jack and ginger and our waiter could not explain to us why. We spied a few of the neighbor tables and their food and everything looked amazing. Atmosphere is nice. Next time we are going to ask to sit in the bar area which looks much more cozy and private for a date night. We definitely will come back and have dinner again."
