"my grandma bought me a gold bracelet from here as a graduation present in May. it’s now mid July, and the bracelet has broken twice already. the first time it snapped, i took it back here and asked if it had warranty . they said yes, but the warranty doesn’t cover the bracelet snapping, it only covers for the gold being real. kind of dumb, but i decided to get it fixed here anyways for $15. 2 weeks later, the bracelet snaps again from a different spot. Mind you, i’m a behavioral technician. my job doesn’t require a lot of manual labor, and i’m never constantly tugging on the bracelet. the first time it snapped while i was sat down in the backseat of my dad’s car. the second time it snapped, i was in my room watching videos on my phone. my grandma, the one who spent $290 on this bracelet, gets mad and says that she’ll go with me to complain and get the bracelet fixed. we go earlier this week, and the girl takes a look at my bracelet and says “are u sure u bought it here? we don’t even sell that style here”. The same style bracelet that i have is literally posted on their instagram @silverandbodyjewelry. Then she goes on to say that some pieces of jewelry aren’t meant for every day use. Regardless of if i’m wearing it every day or not, the bracelet shouldn’t break TWO TIMES in less than two months. After talking more she says they can fix it for $8, but the guy that fixes the jewelry isn’t here so to come back another day. 2 days later, we go and there’s another lady. We explain the situation, and tell her that another worker promised to fix it for $8. She says she can’t do that because she doesn’t even know who said that in the first place, and then tries to charge us $30!!! She also says some snarky comments like “well i don’t know what your doing on ur free time to have it break two times”. she says to come back another day because again, the guy isn’t there to fix it. We went to a jewelry repair shop instead where the lady tells us that the bracelet is hallow gold so it will constantly be breaking. $290 for a bracelet that will constantly break is ridiculous!! I was so happy to receive this bracelet for my graduation, but now i just feel guilty and annoyed for having my grandma spend $290 on this piece of junk. we ended up fixing it for $27 at the jewelry repair shop because at least there they have warranty so if it snaps again the repair will be free!!"
