Reviews of Jumpin' Crab
"Don’t recommend coming here if you want shrimp/crab/crawfish. I walked in at 9 (an hour before closing) and showed the host/server what i wanted (something small) and he said we dont have anything of that. He kept looking at his clock even though i was there for less than 5 minutes. If you dont like serving people an hour before your close time because your lazy change your hours."
"This place is spacious and clean. I will give it that. The service was mediocre. The menu offers not only the Cajun Crawfish Combos, but also offers a variety of fusion foods. So there are other options for families who have young kids who can't do the whole spicy Cajun stuff. That's also a plus. This leaves the review of the food. I ordered Spicy Lemon Pepper calamari. I have to say, it was the WORST calamari I have EVER eaten. I ate about 3 or 4 rings and that was it. The taste was far below what was ordered. It was neither spicy nor lemony in flavor. The batter tasted like it was left out for days and then re-fried. If you want to know how a deep-fried rubberband tastes like, you should order yourself this appetizer. On to the main courses that were ordered. 1. Combo #1: The amount of clams, muscles and shrimp (we substituted a pound of crawfish for an extra pound of shrimp) was pretty good. But that's all the good that there was. When the bag was brought out and opened up, I immediately knew that I would not enjoy this as I would at a different joint. Let's start with the sauce, if you could call it that. I would just call it chili oil because that's all that it was. There was no visible minced garlic and no SAUCE. It looked and tasted like it was all oil. I'll spare you the details of what my stomach felt like after the meal. The oil tasted sweeter than most crawfish joints. The sausages in the bag looked like they have been cooked and left out to dry for a few hours before putting them back into the pot to heat up. The skin on the sausage was wrinkled. If you can imagine how Chinese sausage (Lap Suong) looks like, the sausage in the bag looked like a bigger version. I don't eat pork/beef/chicken, so I didn't eat the sausage. I can't comment on the flavor, but I'm pretty sure it was probably as bad as it looked. I didn't feel that the shrimp was left in long enough or well marinated/pre-cooked enough because there was no flavor in the shrimp. I had to dip it in the oil if I wanted to taste any cajun flavor. 2. Filet Mignon Pho (Vietnamese Beef Rice Noodle Soup with Filet Mignon): One of my colleagues ordered this and he said it was so bland. There was hardly any flavor and was not worth what he was paying for the bowl ($8.00). 3. Two Glasses of Wine at $8 each: Really? If you're going to charge this much for a glass of cheap wine, at least fill it up more. His glass was 2/3 full. The wine not only looked cheap, it tasted cheap. And $8 a glass???!!!! What a rip-off! If anyone is planning on ordering wine here, please don't. Just bring your own flask and your favorite wine glass. At least you know it's something you actually like and something that you actually enjoy. Again, RIP-OFF! 4. Garlic Fries: I have never tasted sweet garlic fries....EVER! Enough said. I will give Jumpin' Crab this: The service that was provided by the waitresses was great. They were very nice and actually came to refill our drinks without us having to ask. They also split the check for us without any incident. I guess the important question to ask is not so much "Did I like it there" but "Will I come back there to eat". And the answer is no. Not by a long shot. There are too many joints out there that actually have good quality food to be eating here. Sorry...but I'm not sorry."
"Delicious!! The staff was so sweet, friendly and attentive!! The food was amazing and shrimp/crab tanks are immaculate. Was my first time here and for sure I’ll be back."
"Came there with family and friends. A very spacious and clean restaurant. We ordered couple combo # 1 , fried rice, coconut shrimp, fries , soup. Drink we had beer, pineapple juice and soft drink. So far foods were very good. We will come back to try combo # 2 and # 3. Will try crepes too. I heard is good."
