"There aren't many children's shoe stores, so I appreciate it. It makes a big difference when someone who knows what they're doing helps fit your child for shoes. However, the requirement of putting your name on a list and waiting outside the store is not ideal."
"Great store, great staff. Our PT suggested we get our 10 month old his first pair of sneakers in person instead of ordering some online to make sure they fit properly. Ken took the time to find a pair of sneakers that fit great. Definitely recommend stopping by!"
"Why on Earth do people have to sign-in and wait outside the store until they are invited in?!? That approach leaves customers waiting for a very long time and having no opportunity to browse the store. By the time that they make it to the top of the list and get inside the store, they don’t know what they want to look at, which makes the process even longer. I got impatient after standing outside for about 7 minutes and still being the third in line- on a weeknight- but I couldn’t even see whether the store carried the brand that I wanted, thereby justifying the wait, so I left. It is unfortunate that the customer experience here is such a turn-off because, looking through the windows while you wait in the hallway, the store does seem to carry many reputable, high-quality brands. Sigh."
"If you have a white skin or you qualify as a "regular customer" then this a great shoe shop. Very wide selection of shoes. But mind you that buying six pairs of shoes in less than a year does not qualify you as a "regular" at this store and since there is really nothing you can do about skin colour you must reconsider your visit. You might be discriminated against during busy time. Today was one such day and I happened to be at the receiving end. The store has a policy that each staff member attends to one customer at a time and this rule is sacrosanct. I was asked to leave the store and wait outside because the staff couldn't go inside and pick a shoe for me. No fitting was needed as I knew what I wanted. However, when a white lady who was also a regular walked in she was welcomed inside even though none of the staffers were available. The rule was thrown out of the window. This customer referred to the assistant manager as the sweet Turkish guy and that did the trick. He smiled and let her along with me violating their sacrosanct rule. When I brought this to the store management's attention, I was told that I was creating a scene. There was no apology or acknowledgement of what went wrong. The assistant manager told me that it was okay if I didn't want to come again and smirked. He also mentioned that he has no history of my previous shoe purchases indicating that I wasn't important enough and hadn't earned the privilege of the regular status. Maybe I would have qualified as a "regular" by the end of this year but I won't bother after this experience. Please check your "regular" status and skin colour before visiting this store."
"Took my disabled son here on the recommendation of other parents in the disabled community. What a great place. Staff had the sort of knowledge we'd normally only find in professional physical therapists and occupational therapists. As thoughtful and knowledgeable as you could be about fitting shoes for kids with differences in gait, posture etc. Made me think there ought to be places like this in every city."
