Reviews of US Social Security Administration
"I needed some information and after repeatedly trying to follow the instructions on website I called Crescent city office. 6 weeks waiting on web 3 minutes with a phone call. Thank you Crescent City for your efficient and prompt help"
"I recently (4/3/2018) had a need to go to our Social Security Administration office in Crescent City,(just became of age)… what a beautiful building. Easy to locate and well thought out parking. As I approached the entrance, I noticed it had a double entry door system…just like seen in newer Banks. Finally in the main entrance, there was a security guy that greeted me, he had Black latex gloves on and was packing some heat…looked to be a Glock 20 (40 S&W), possibly 3rd generation, I didn’t ask…Anyway, security guy was NOT your run of the mill…he was and is the real-deal…he asked; do you have any firearms? Answer NO, do you have any knives? Answer YES…his response; please secure them in your vehicle sir, thank you… After securing my Swiss Army pocket knife and Leatherman Wave multi-tool, I returned and was instructed to login by using a very easy to read and use Kiosk. The Kiosk spit out a number (just like DMV) and I sat down and faced an informative flat screen that displayed a lot of things I didn’t know about at Social Security Administration…I learned a lot and made several notes so to research later…. I skipped the weather report, it is what it is. When it was my turn to be helped, I was summoned by my first name and not my number (C249)…how refreshing! I was greeted by a smiling 30ish young lady (with no name tag) that made me feel very comfortable from the get-go…genuine smiles get me every time… this young representative knew everything! She guided me through the maze of options and confusion in such a way that anyone could understand and… make informed decisions. There was even a glitch with my birth-certificate…not to worry…she navigated her Computer like a programmer and resolved that issue. Next thing I know she says; you’re all set! This young lady displayed unparalleled professionalism, empathy and respect like I never seen before…She did provide her first name when asked, but I respect her position and will not put it here. The security guy?...As I exited, I asked if he was local law enforcement, his response, no sir, Homeland Security…My response; very impressive and professional…his response, thank you sir. Bottom line...5-star rating, I had a wonderful experience. TIP...Always bring you’re official Birth Certificate with you! Brian from Brookings"
"Terrible staff is clueless, Robby Blankenship is totally incompetent. Shows you civil service promotes people to get rid of them not for merit or competence. My dec payment was held in full Robby is of zero help. I hope you read this"
"This is the first time in my 37 odd years of visiting any Social Security office in California that I can truthfully report of having had a great experience. The building is clean and the staff are pleasant and relaxed. There was absolutely no waiting time whatsoever. I don't know why the machine to vend queing tickets is there at all. I am just floored at how exceptionally well run that place really is."
