"Beautiful remodeling. Very comfortable and welcoming ☺"
"Beautiful new library! All the books we checked out, which were children’s books were brand new. One of the librarians was a bit rude when I asked about a class they offered for children, but otherwise great experience."
"Really outstanding theme design, excellent layout, good semi-open floorplan various specialty study/meeting rooms, modern retro Eichler-esque exterior architecture well suited for the neighborhood, very modern and stylish restroom(s), relatively large and adequately lit parking lot (could use more lights but probably limited as a courtesy to adjoining residential neighbors), awkward parking lot entrance off busy Soquel Drive with too narrow curbed enter/exit ways... Maybe a minor flaw, until there's a load of wheel misalignments from hitting the median curb (I wonder how so much thought could go into all the other aspects of this beautiful place but this one aspect can be so poorly designed). Overall, though, a solid 5/5 stars so far."
"Its great that Aptos has a library! However for the last few months it's only on paper and the admins and contractors are getting paid, but the library is closed. Poor working class folks, especially working homeless, don't have the access to the internet or printers to cross the digital divide and take control of their lives here. Thats what a library is all about; community and learning. There are nice expensive books strewn about the ground, now waterlogged, as if they were dropped on the way to a dumpster, and there are no longer local resources for personal and career development for the working poor. Whoever is in charge of this library renovation project is really doing a disservice by turning it into a long drawn admin project and wasting tax dollars trashing good books and facilities instead of keeping it functional and hiring more librarians and giving the library a bigger budget for staff. Please show some compassion for your tax payers and at least pick up the ruined hardback books from the ground inside the fence so it doesn't look like Aptos doesn't care. Heaven forbid they leave the parking lot publicly accessible to the people who paid for it to even park there and read a book in their car. Very disappointed."
"My company reserved the meeting room in this library for 2 days in February of 2018. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with, they also let us in an hour before the library opened so that we could start early. The room came with tables, chairs, a tv, and the staff allowed us to use a laptop for our presentation."
