"This is the location of the future city of Paramount California. This tree has a history all its own. During the early years of Southern California this tree was where early pointers sold their hay . The surrounding areas were once farmers fields growing hay to be used in a ever growing cattle, and diary farmers. Where the Paramount city hall now stands were offices and adjacent to this remarkable tree stands a building that housed hay"

"i was literally just driving by and saw a sign in regards to the tree. i decided to pull over and take a look at it. it's a small green area that has been kept clean with the tree right in the middle. there is a plaque that describes the significance of the area and if i hadn't stopped i would've never known why this area is important."
