Be Prepared for Brush Fires
Living in Los Angeles means being vigilant about the risks of brush fires. We urge residents, especially those near current incidents, to stay informed by keeping your TV or radio on. It's crucial to have your family's critical documents, essential phone data, pets, and other valuables ready for evacuation if needed.
Enhancing Public Safety
In collaboration with the Department of Transportation, we have launched a program to remove illegally parked vehicles in designated Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. This initiative aims to educate the public about the dangers of fast-moving brush fires and the importance of keeping roadways clear for emergency access.
Fire Safety in the Canyons
The canyons of Los Angeles present unique fire safety challenges, including hazards from ornamental vegetation. Our department works diligently throughout the year to enforce Fire Code compliance, ensuring that properties with such shrubbery maintain proper clearance and care.
Our Mission
The Los Angeles Fire Department is dedicated to saving lives, fighting fires, ensuring safety and prevention, and building strong communities. We offer a range of services, including fire safety education, evacuation information, disaster readiness resources, and volunteer opportunities.

Reviews
"Love our fire department crew. When I first took my son, Joshua was 8yrs, his dream was a fire fighter. So, we went to our local fire department. The day we went was absolutely amazing experience for my son and I, got to take pictures, he wore the heavy jacket along the helmet. Just love seeing my son face. Knowing the fire department crew team helped made the difference. They were very thankful. The fact that we had inquired and interested about our fellow men whom risked their lives for us the people... I am very proud and mostly grateful to our great heroes. Thank you again."
"We had a little pot hole in the ally right behind out house and we came here to ask question about it. Very proffesional, answered all the questions and they even dropped by to check it out."
