Welcome to Butter & Crumble: A San Francisco Delight
Nestled in the heart of San Francisco at 271 Francisco St, Butter & Crumble is your go-to destination for artisanal pastries and cakes. As a beloved local bakery, we pride ourselves on crafting exquisite treats that are the culmination of a meticulous three-day process. From the initial mixing and resting of the dough to the final glazing and decorating, each pastry is a testament to our passion and dedication to quality.
Operating Hours & Availability
We are open from Thursday to Sunday, starting at 9 AM until we sell out, which often happens around noon due to high demand. To avoid disappointment, we recommend visiting early or checking our Instagram for real-time updates on availability. Please note, we are closed from August 26 to September 1.
Pre-orders & Limitations
To ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy our creations, we limit purchases to 10 items per group, with a maximum of 3 per item. Pre-orders for cakes and pastries can be made via Hotplate, with new slots released every Monday. Full-size cakes are available by preorder only, while mini cakes may be available in-store on a first-come, first-served basis.
Special Orders & Catering
While we are not currently accepting wholesale requests, we do accommodate catering orders when possible. If you're interested in having Butter & Crumble at your next event, particularly on Wednesdays, please reach out to us at sophie@butterandcrumble.com.

"WELL worth the line! This place tops the list as my new favorite croissant in SF. We enjoyed the pistachio croissant and a morning bun. Do yourself a favor and enjoy them in nearby Washington Square Park. At 9am on a Friday the line took 10 to 15 mins."
"Very hyped, so expect to be there early enough & wait in line. Atmosphere felt a bit rushed & crowded therefore. There is only 2 barstools, so dont expect to stay to enjoy your goods. But you can see part of the pastry making which is a nice touch. Prices are pretty steep but both my savory bruschetta danish & the twice baked peach croissant did deliver- fresh & full of flavor while not being overly sweet. So worth it as a special treat :)"

"We stopped here for the first time and waited about 30 minutes or so in line, but it was totally worth it at the end! The croissants were unique, delicious, and actually reasonably priced. And the person taking the orders was friendly. My favorite croissants were the coffee and peach ones! Definitely recommend it, and even if you have to wait a while, it's worth it!"
"Best pastries I have ever had in my life. Get there early, like 20/30 min before they open, the line gets long. It is definitely worth the wait and hype.
