"It's LA where else are you gonna go. I stayed in the dry camp area. Dry sites are three times the reg sites but no hookups and 20ft max length, all good for me! Don't even have to walk far for bathrooms and the other congested area of the park. Some planes are louder than others, but I don't even hear them after a bit and when I'm in my RV I watch something anyways, so not even a complaint. Bonfire smoke reminds me of forest fires back home and can be thick, but people are having fun, so not really a complaint either because if I had friends here that's what I'd be doing too! If you're in a small RV with solar, and have an e bike, then you'll be glad you came here!"
"If you face towards the ocean and don't look behind you it's a stunning location. The park was clean and seemed very safe giving its very odd location in LA near the airport. The planes were noticeable but not so loud I could not sleep and the flights seemed to stop around 10pm. I was traveling in my Sprinter van and needed a place to stay before flying out for a side trip. I was able to walk in the day of checkin and make a reservation for two nights in the "dry camp" area. They have a two night minimum but at a low nightly rate it was worth the price over staying in a hotel. Also this allowed me to not have a checkout on the day of my flight I was able to stay at the park all day and enjoyed the beach."
"Upon arrival we noticed that we were booked in a drive in site, but we are pulling a travel trailer. The road was a one-way so we could not back into the site. I asked for site 3, but she refused saying it was booked. They gave us another site that was right beside the garbage and the showers. Constant coming and going. Lot number 3 that I had asked for stayed empty during my visit. The airplane noise did not bother me. The site was right on the beach, fire pits were very pretty and the sound of the water was very nice. Bike path also on location. Trucks were parked on the roadway in front of our trailer so we had to park on our lot in front of our trailer. Female staff warning that unless we kept our paper visible, they would take us. Showers were small."
"We have need coming here for about 23 years. I love this place front spots are the best. This year I have been very disappointed. Much to my surprise someone has put up tents to camp on the beach at first I did not think much of it the next morning they were still there. When I called the office they said yes we can camp on the beach. The rules of the beach are no tent camping. I guess rules don’t count anymore so disappointed this cool close to home spot is going downhill. They are usually very strict on the rules."
"Safe area and armed guards plus unarmed security 24/7. On the beach in a quiet part of the highway. Pristine bathrooms and showers. Locked for only the campsites. Wonderful stay. 45$/night in May of 2024. You are directly behind the takeoff of LAX. But somehow you don’t hear it in your campervan."
