"Good people, pleasant atmosphere"

"Daily mass there at 8:30 is amazing, it is full of people, looks like Sunday mass. The priest is very nice."

"Beautiful church, music, and Fr Albert gives a really great Mass However, the church community is extremely lacking. My then fiancé (now husband) and I came to St. Marks after I was stationed out here. We were looking for a new church community, especially with no nearby family. We registered and the only people who ever reached out to us were looking for donations. Then, we were looking to start Pre Cana for our upcoming wedding. We called and emailed the parish several times and even spoke to Fr Albert who promised they would figure something out for us. This was never done and with our upcoming wedding, we became frantic, and ended up reaching out to our parish back home. The final straw for us was when our son was born this past May and we wanted to baptize him. We began reaching out with no responses, it was very reminiscent of trying to get Pre Cana. We were tired of working so hard for the bare minimum a church we regularly attended and donated to should do. This is absolutely unacceptable. There are redeeming qualities about this church, however, we just felt entirely unwelcome here. With no family out here and a new baby, we really needed that."

"My fiancé and I were completely blown away by the raw talent of the 10:30 Sunday contemporary choir this past Sunday. We are from San Diego and needed a mass. Little did we know what a treat we were in for. Sound system for pastor could be a little better for hearing him, but his message was relevant and mixed with good humor. We will most certainly revisit Saint Marks next time we're up in Venice!"
