"Can't wait for this year's 2-Stroke Jet Ski races through the canals, had a blast last year."
"This is the Los Angeles version of Lombard Street. A Venice Canal to Venice Beach, and vice versa path. It goes from 25th Ave. on Venice Beach, passes walk street homes to a LA City Crosswalk. The Crosswalk takes you down a windy path to a straight path and you end up on the Historic Grand Canal in Venice. The Canals were originally built in 1906, and restored in 2009. The restoration of the Venice Canals took 9 years of work by the Venice Canals Association. It was paid by the homeowners as a property owner sponsored assessment district. Homeowners paid half the cost of the restoration, and th city of Los Angeles the other half. The Venice Canal Venice Beach path was built as a result of the Venice Canals Foundation, VCF. The VCF was founded by members of the Venice Canals Association,. Funding was provided by neighbors, The California State Coastal Conservancy, and the City of Los Angeles beautification fund. The Beach Access Path, it's gardens, etc. are maintained by the Venice Canals Foundation, a 501c3 non profit that has a board made up of community volunteers."
"I guess it's worth a couple stars because it does the job at says and gives you access to the beach but it's missleading in a sense that you would assume the canals are also right there along with it. To walk the canals you have to do a little bit of searching and walk around a corner or a half a block to see what you need if you're looking for those canals. So don't get greedy if you think you're going to get dropped off smack-dab in the middle of it all keep your eyes open and always be prepared because remember only you can prevent forest fires and always buckle up for now I'm Mike signing off have a swell day and a good Canal watch."
