"I was walking the boardwalk and I ran into Michael, a representative of the church. We had a good talk, he invited me to service then lunch. It was a very welcoming place. A lot of love, tolerance and acceptance. After I get my place in Venice, I look forward to continuing a relationship with them. Helping out when I can."
"The Bible Tabernacle Church has been a safe haven for women with children, and those who need good works and perhaps something to eat, the servants of God at this church are good and kind people. Welcoming and willing to help with love, kind words, and a good message. I recently enjoyed services at the Bible Tabernacle church upon my return to Venice California after being away almost ten years, I can remember when I was a young man growing up with my family in Venice California, falling on difficult times, I would walk past the little shaded church in the mornings to receive warm food from the kitchen which helped me feed my family that included my infant child at the time. I will always be grateful for the hospitality, sustenance, and love received from those who support the Bible Tabernacle Church. Blessings thank you, thank the lord, and namaste."
"Although this church seems to have a very good beginning, I did not have a good experience. As I walked to the church, two people said they were leaving or being kicked out and there was new management. I have major heart problems, anemia and possibly breast cancer. I arrived with a left ankle swollen twice its size and could barely walk after having to walk over 3 miles to get there. It was dusk and I was tired, exhausted and defeated. I prayed all the way there this place would be different and I would be welcomed with open arms to a safe haven. In my dreams. As I hobbled up to the door with around 70 pounds of luggage, a black man approached. He said he was the director but was not listed as a staff member on the website. He was extremely combative and abusive as he informed me I could not stay because I do not have children. The literature stated they will accept walkins only for one night. I told him I was starving and he said I could not have food or something to drink. After I shared my health problems he finally gave me some food but kept repeating he would not help. By the grace of God, a nice lady came up who told me she would get someone to take me to the hospital. On the way I told her about their website that did not mention women would be turned away. I kept wondering what Jesus would want them to do. I believe Jesus wants all of us to love our neighbors or guests by trying to help them in their time of need. I also believe this belief was the core of the beginning of this church and the founders created the charity with Christian love as its primary goal. Unfortunately I was treated very badly, turned away and left feeling worse than when I arrived. I can only pray God and Jesus can heal the anger and negative feelings of the director and make him whole again."
