"I was assigned this doctor through my health insurance. When I called to make an appointment because I had tested positive for Covid19, I was told by the receptionist that since I was a new patient they could not do anything for me. I would have to come into the office for them to help me, which of course I can't right now because I am quarantining. I told her that I just wanted some medical advice from my doctor since I am on day 5 and not getting better. She told me to treat it like "a regular virus" and if I was breathing okay, to call back when I was better to make an appointment. But, she said appointments take two weeks "so keep that in mind". No offer of telehealth, nothing. She then went on to say that they did not accept my insurance, despite it being printed on my card, and a representative from HealthNet calling their office to confirm my eligibility. The receptionist even hung up on the HealthNet representative the first time he called. The lack of care and general rudeness was so disappointing and distressing. I must now go without having any provider for the next 7-10 days until I can be switched to a doctor who will actually see me. Or at least has a receptionist who will check my eligibility before telling me to kick rocks while I'm sick."
