"So this used to be an "always stop" when we went to Monterey. But then the corporate overlords decided to discontinue the local recipes - my favorite Lone Cypress is gone, as are the other uniquely Monterey recipes. Multiple attempts to provide constructive feedback to the company were completely ignored. I guess if they just want a quick tourist buck and no repeat business, that's their prerogative, but I can't recommend it anymore. 2018 review (was 5 stars, no more) -- Get the Lone Cypress. Trust me. Or just taste a bunch of good sauces for yourself."

"This place is amazing and the manager is equally awesome. She was so knowledgeable about everything in the store. Even better your able to sample on tiny spoons like baskin robbins does. She mixed and matched some rubs and sauces together. So you go home knowing you loved what you bought and are definitely not going to be disappointed. Give them a visit if you’re in the area! They even ship to your home! Can’t bear that at all when you know what you like and live far away! Keep up the heat Pepper Palace in Monterey! Definitely will be returning!!"

"A cool place if you dig hot sauce and are visiting Monterey. A huge selection of hot sauces, salsas, dry rubs, bbq sauces and wing sauces to try on either a spoon or a tortilla chip. I tried every single one and was shocked when the xxx hot salsa snuck up on me and gave me that long lasting burn. Definitely recommended for the spice lovers and even those with a milder palette, they have a huge selection of unique flavors for any taste buds. And you can try them all before you buy!"

"Nice store with a lot of hot sauce many of which you can sample. Hottest sauce in the store is Flashbang. They also sell miscellaneous other hot items. Staff was friendly and helpful."
