"I visited this Once Upon a Child location today and standing in line, I was organizing the clothes and taking them off the hangers for the cashier. A older woman cashier came up to me and said not to take them off their hangers and that’s not appreciated here. I apologized and said I usually go to the ones in Sacramento who always ask me to take stuff off the hangers. She said, “Well every store is different.” She then walked away from me, and asked the woman in line behind me to come to her register instead of me. My wife and I were dumbfounded. We kept waiting until the other cashier could help us and she apologized and said she appreciated me taking the clothes off the hangers anyway that it made it faster. The first older cashier was so rude and then continued to watch us until we left. It was very ridiculous especially after spending 200$ on clothes in there to have the cashier be so rude."
"They don't take anything unless it's pristine like new then they ask before you bring in what you have to sell that you bring it folded neatly in a box and tell you that they won't take basically anything because it's either has a little dirt on it or doesn't have it's complete set. It's almost ran like a vintage clothes store. After they go through what you have brought for them they offer maybe twenty five cents to a dollar for each pice then sell them for eight to twelve dollars. It's honestly almost a wast of time to bring anything here I would just donate to local domestic abuse help shelters like catalyst or donate to Arc where said shelters have a discount."
"So I've gone here a few times in hopes it would get better, I've found some cute stuff but all is overly priced. Same prices as at Walmart and it's new. Anyway I've gone in tried to sell literal brand new clothes my son never even got to wear still had tags and some in like new condition clothes that I washed and laid flat in a tote like asked I was told to wait up to 35-45mins the store was empty other then two other moms shopping, I filled out a form and signed in on my app. And waited they finally called me back and gave everything back saying they couldn't sell anything because it has a oder.. I looked at them puzzled and told them I literally just pulled them from the dyer and brought them in if they smell anything is called laundry sheets or detergent she got snippy and a Said they can't sell anything with a oder.. but ask for fresh cleaned clothes?? They say they won't accept anything with stains but yet today I found 3 outfits up front that had tags saying sold as is has stains and they were $4.50 each.. so my question is is what's the deal? You over price things and pick.and choose who you want to buy from.? The owner really needs to hire workers who care and love being around people and children because the ladies they have have zero people skills . And treat everyone as a inconvenience."
"Workers are snobby and put you through more work than its worth. They had me bring everything in (it was a lot) and told me they'd look through it. Many outfits were name brand and pristine condition. I start driving away and within less than 2 minutes they call me back to say they won't take anything because it's not folded in plastic crates. Why would I go out to purchase a plastic crate in hopes they'll pay me a few bucks? Why have me take everything in, act as if you'll look through, knowing you won't even bother? I went right over to goodwill and donated instead, rather than trying to put up with their high maintenance requests. This was a big turn off for ever shopping there myself."
"First time visiting a Once Upon a Child, was extremely impressed with the level of organization and cleanliness of the store, and over all the staff seemed nice. Found a designer diaper bag that retails for about $200 for $40, a stack of baby books in excellent condition and several clean barely or never worn clothing items for my 3 month old son for pennies on the dollar. Saw at least a hundred other things I would buy for him and my two girls. I left the store feeling like I won something! Will definitely return in the near future!"
