"The only real reason I come here, the customer service by DANA is superb. Always makes ways and things happen for our company. If you’ve had a bad experience, or bad customer service. Call and ask for her. You will not be disappointed. TRUST ME!"
"Very helpful service and knowledgeable- cool employees that knows their stuff. Really helped my business get awesome exotic fish in a timely manner. would definitely be going back!"
"BEWARE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. My husband and I started a new fish store in orange county. We needed to stock up our tanks so we checked out this wholesaler in LA. We picked up some fish on November 3 2021. Not the best quality (had lots of sick fish die after we brought them back), but they had a good selection, so we decided to do business with them. 3 days after purchasing fish from Southland, we see these mysterious charges on our credit card in their city. After two months of calling this company back, we were finally able to talk to the owner Randy. He was very rude, blaming us for the problem and cursing on the phone. Randy was saying "maybe you got gas in Compton or something." NO, we only got fish in Inglewood and rushed back to our store to open. We never stopped anywhere in LA besides Southland, so clearly they hired some shady employees. These people are extremely unprofessional. Terrible experience, very sketchy place. EDIT: The owner tried to scare us into changing our review by threatening to sue us for slander, but sadly we are not making any of this up... First off, we are not children that are messing around. We have a legitimate fish store with a business license, which is why they accepted us as customers and allowed us to purchase from them wholesale in the first place. Second off, it was NOT a city over that these purchases were made. The location of the purchases clearly says INGLEWOOD, which happens to be the exact city Southland is located at. Third of all, I feel extremely offended by the way the owner decided to handle the situation. He never apologized once, just got defensive and flipped out on us. Obviously the way they run their system is old-school and does not protect their customers. When we had checked out with the employee, we noticed the girl write down our credit card information on a sheet of paper. We thought that was a strange way to do it, but we trusted them with our money (until pizza and norms was suspiciously purchased days later). We would've simply appreciated an apology, but instead we keep getting belittled by this company. End of story, I don't respect this business and would never recommend any of my colleagues to go through this distributor."
"Bad people, sick fish, terrible business. Edit: Very amusing that the owner keeps belittling us and calling us "kids". We are both young still, so starting a business was not easy. We had to borrow money, so I don't see any shame in getting some help. The way this company gets defensive instead of saying sorry really makes this whole situation worse."
"Everyone complaining about them not selling to the public. Thats the point. Its a wholesaler. They need to sell in bulk in order to stay in business. If you baught 10 neon tetras at wholesale prices for personal use Southland would be out of business like their stock alot as a local fish store carries their fish. Very very nice fish. THANK YOU for carrying the best stock around!"
