"We were very grateful for the professionalism and care we received from Bermudez in our hour of need. The staff was very responsive. They displayed great professionalism to carry out the church and cemetery services smoothly."
"I was pleased with the efficient service combined with kindness and thoughtfulness. I would highly recommend Bermudez. I was allowed to use one of a pair of special urns that I had been saving for 12 or more years. I appreciated the accommodation. In appreciation, A. Seltzer"
"What an extremely frustrating experience. When my mother was a week away from dying, I tried to reach out to Bermudez and Mission mortuaries to better understand what they offered and why their pricing was so different. I wanted to make an informed decision before my mother died. I left several messages with their answering services before my mother died and no one ever returned my call. When my mother died, I had to make a last minute decision and I went with Bermudez because their cremation price was several hundred dollar less expensive than Mission even though the actual service offered appeared to be identical. My mother died on the Saturday of a holiday weekend, they picked up her body but no one contacted me before the following Tuesday. When I was contacted, the person identified herself as being with Mission mortuary. I said "wait, I had asked for Bermudez" and she said that was her too - they are both owned by the same company. I leave it them to explain the nonsensical reasons for the difference in pricing. In any event, after looking at the urns on their website, my brother (who was coordinating with me from Italy) and I picked an urn. When I spoke with Sandra again, I was told the urn we had selected - from their website, which she had directed me to - would not be big enough (my mother was about 5'2" and weighed about 120 pounds... so I'm not sure what adult would fit in this urn, and it is an adult urn in theory) so I had to go through urn picking with my brother in Italy all over again and we decided to just buy one elsewhere. Then, once I had done the paperwork and paid the fees, I heard nothing further and had no idea how long the next phase would take. After a few days, I called to find when we should expect to receive the remains and death certificates - because, yes, after someone dies one would like a timeframe for planning purposes. The person I spoke with when I called said he did not have the information and I would have to speak with Sandra. He said he would give her the message. It almost goes without saying at this point that, although I left several messages, I never got a call back to give me any information on approximately what the schedule was and when my mother's remains would be returned to us. I finally received a call saying her remains were there but they closed at 3 so we couldn't pick them up until the next day and the next day we were told we couldn't pick them up until the next day. My mother died on May 25, the ordeal of working with Bermudez ended on June 20. This is one of the most unresponsive organizations I have ever dealt with - given that they are dealing with grieving people, I am astounded. How they have so many positive reviews, I cannot imagine. Perhaps we were not spending enough money because we only wanted a cremation, but it was truly an appalling experience."
"Having to make end-of-life arrangements is never a fun thing to do, but Sandra at Bermudez Family made the process as smooth as possible. She was very professional, thorough, and understanding of our needs. They got all the details right, which is so important for the death certificate and final arrangements. The memorial box is beautiful. Highly recommend this company."
"Sandra was incredibly friendly and helpful when providing information on funeral arrangements. She patiently answered all my questions with a warm demeanor, making a difficult time a little easier to navigate. Her kindness and understanding were truly appreciated during such a sensitive moment."
