"The path west of the trailhead that briefly follows the creek up the hillside is awesome. It’s much less traveled than other trails in the area and is a nice mix of shaded lush sections and the grassy hillside with great views. A lot of the other trails around are full sun and best done early in the morning. But because of the shade offered the path west of the trailhead isn’t too bad even on hot days, especially if you head uphill westward from the start"
