"During the pandemic this beauty supply posed as a black owned business so it wouldn’t get vandalized during the riots, it is in fact an Asian owned establishment. They do not like African Americans but only when it’s convenient, I stopped patronizing their business over five years ago. The customer service is horrible. I only support black owned businesses and it feels great to support my own community!"

"Tonight (1/13/23), I went in to buy some gel and was told there is $10 minimum by an older woman. I said that is illegal, and was met with an "Oh". I mentioned this was illegal again and left the store. Being able to afford the charge is not the issue; it's the discrimination behind the minimum charge for card usage, mainly enforced in lower income areas. Because no sign is posted stating the required minimum for using a card, I'll find it hard to believe the owner is unaware. In 1985, California passed a law (Civil Code section 1748.1) that prohibited merchants from adding a surcharge (an extra fee) when customers pay by credit card instead of cash. That law does allow merchants to give customers discounts for paying by cash, check, or debit card, as long as that discount is offered to all customers. This law is in effect to stop people from abusing people in lower income areas. Because of the fact the customers are generally women of color, I find this particularly offensive. This is illegal and I will be submitting a report to the Attorney General."

"I have always gotten my hair from this place, moved out of town 5 years ago. Came back and was excited about getting my hair that was good quality back then. Was telling my friends about it, when I came back. This time I was highly disappointed, payed about $500 and sum change for 3 bundles, to have it tangled badly and hair was all on the floor from shedding and just simple brushing. Will never come back spent too much money, not to get quality and hair coming out within the first week."

"I recently moved here from Palm Springs and am going about work of finding replacements for my favorite businesses. They had a visitor but obvious friend who'd stopped by. I was happy to hear a language familiar to me. They greeted me and were attentive in a friendly, welcoming way. I'm African American. I have two more businesses to check out. They just happened to be the closest. Great product staging and marketing!"
