Reviews of Hermosa Massage & Spa
"My first time returning in a few years. Clearly different owners from the previous time. My massage was FANTASTIC. I got a Thai/Swedish combo. This is a very nice place especially for the price. It's clean but not fancy so bring your own water for afterwards. If you want a very good massage check this place out."
"Great massages and you can switch the masseuse if you don’t like them in the first 15 mins."
"Excellent Swedish massage today . Jenifer did a wonderful job relaxing me . The place is spotless and everyone was so nice"
"Please read this review until the end...because that's where the good stuff is! I was visiting Hermosa Beach, and Hermosa Massage & Spa was recommended. When I arrived, I had immediate concern, as it was a tiny and rather garish store front. I turned the door knob, but it was locked. Thinking I made a mistake, I looked for the hours of operation, when I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who let me in. I purposely arrived 30-minutes early and expected to wait in a comfortable chair with cucumber water. It was not that. Instead, I sat in a cramped, sparce waiting room featuring Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorations, even though it was mid-January. At the 15-minute mark, the friendly receptionist offered to take me back to my treatment room, and I gladly accepted. The treatment room was clean and basic with a Navy blue polyester robe hanging on the wall. As is customary, I was offered the rest room before beginning my 90-minute massage. The friendly receptionist said that I could find it through the door at the right. Wait, the door at the right had a fire-alarm bar on it. Gently trying it, no alarm went off, thank goodness. But where was I? What were those storage shelves? What was that smell of cooking? Finally, I found the sparce, but clean, rest room. Heading back to my treatment room, I undressed as instructed, then crawled under the covers. I am used to warm, cozy linens. This was a scratchy sheet. Uh-oh. Then, my massage therapist, the wonderful Jasmine arrived. Oh…my…gosh. What I learned from the experience was that I *never* had a real massage in my entire life, even though I have had dozens and dozens of so-called massages. Those so-called massages were really just lots of lotion rubbed on my body. Jasmine gave me a Swedish/Thai massage, and it was intense in all the right ways. She found tension in my body that I didn’t know existed and went after it until it was banished. She pulled, pressed, and twisted my body in a way that left me more relaxed than I have ever been. Unlike a deep-tissue massage, it was not painful! Never again, will I spend one cent on those other so-called massages. Yes, they are calming, but do not offer the deep relaxation that I want from my investment in massage. The lesson here? Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. What you might find is exactly what you need. Thank you, Jasmine!"
"This was the best massage I've ever had. I melted into the bed. The oil smelled wonderful, like lemon verbena. Perfect pressure, couldn't have asked for a better experience. I loved the music they had playing too, very calming and very in the background."
