"I went here about two weeks before closure as an alternative hiking route. The nearest northern trailhead, Coast Headlands, was closed with modest warnings due to erosion. We passed. The approaching drive is amazing. Feels a lot like Ireland. The hike was very nice even with February temperatures and weather. The trail was normal until we got near the beach. Then it was a scramble down a cliff, you really needed 4 points of contact, which my other friends did not want to try. hope this area can settle in the future but also not surprised and simultaneously alarmed to see the creek completely change course to follow the cliff in just a week via google satellite view. I would rather not be buried under a landslide than go on a hike."
"Gorgeous little 2 mile out and back trail leading down to the beach from a small parking lot with a restroom and a bench. When we went in January, there had just been many earthquakes and plenty of rain to cause slide outs. The trail was covered in one section by a small slide and when we reached near the bottom to the north was a massive slide not yet affecting the trail, but likely will someday. This used to be a beautiful simple trek, but now it could be considered tricky and dangerous. There is a sign immediately warning people of the slide outs. It's too bad one day this trail may not exist."
"This place is magical!! So beautiful, and clean!! It is my 1st time going here, and I didn't want to leave!! The trees were really talking to us! Thought a few of them were going to topple right on top of us!! The wind was pretty strong today, it was was really interesting to hear the redwoods creeling and moaning and sound like they were snapping right in half! I can't wait to come back! We even got to see this amazing albino redwood!!"
"Guthrie Creek Trailhead is great in the spring. The flowers bloom and the sun shines on the surrounding hills. The beach makes for a nice little getaway when you need some time apart from the hustle and bustle. The hike down is fairly easy and not too strenuous. I recommend it if you have the time."
"Access to beach difficult. Be very careful of tides. Being on the sand during high tide can be dangerous."
