San Onofre Beach Camp Pendleton

"After thorough analyzation I can quantify my experience here at San onofre beach Camp Pendleton to a 5 star experience. With a short walk to a beautiful beach with cooling waves me and my friends had a blast. Additionally once we were done swimming the shower facilities were clean and efficient. Overall It was a joyful experience and one that will be remembered."

"This beach is not very kid friendly due to the rocks and sometimes big waves, the water also gets deep really fast so if you don’t know how to swim you can’t really go here. I stayed in the cottages and they are low quality cottages. Outside of the water it isn’t too bad, there is a playground and good views."

"Pretty amazing campground. Focus is on surfing, watching or participating and there is quite a bit of beach action going down. Some complain about the highway noise and trains at night, we were cool with that. Laundry is right there, sites are level with campfires, picnic table and a great view. We have returned here again and again and the only thing I can say negative is FIX THE WEBSITE."

"You must be military to bring your RV travel trailer or tent to this beach area. Full hook ups available as are just water and electric. Sites are quite close together. You must show your active military or veterans ID at the Camp Pendleton gate before entrance. Once inside you need to go and register & be assigned the campsite. Wonderful ocean views and the sound of the pounding surf in addition to far- away sounds of machine gunfire and artillery in addition to helicopters overhead on the Marine base. Still, a very beautiful place. Each campsite has a table and a fire pit."
