Owned and operated by John Van Dixhorn, a University of California, Irvine graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, our establishment is committed to providing quality fuel at competitive prices.
John's journey with the Dana Point Fuel Dock began in 1986 as a dock attendant. Through hard work and dedication, he rose to the position of manager before taking over ownership. His experience extends beyond the fuel dock, with a background in marine engineering and construction through his work with Don Hellmers Engineering, contributing to projects from San Diego to Long Beach.
At Dana Point Fuel Dock, we pride ourselves on offering top-quality fuel, enhanced by our partnership with Valvtect, the industry leader in Marine Additives. As of January 1st, 2013, we are certified as an official Valvtect Marine Station. Our fuel tanks are regularly certified to be free from debris, water, and impurities, and all our fuel is treated with Valvtect Marine Additives, providing approximately ten times the additive packages found at other fuel docks or on-land gas stations. This treatment effectively addresses issues related to the mandated 10% Ethanol blend.
In addition to fuel, we offer propane sales and natural gas container exchanges to meet all your marine and recreational needs.

"Great service, the cashier lady was very humble to me."
"I like Ke to park in lot on Puerto Place. I walk down the jetty to the fuel dock. This is my before sunrise spot. I see the surfers, the birds, the sea lions, and other early risers walking their dogs. Fishing boats & stand up paddle boarders make up my view as I watch the dawn sky change colors. I love California."

"Five star service all the way. Just before arriving to Catalina with my family on our boat we just purchased having the fuel polished and tanks cleaned before the big trip. Another good reason to buy a new boat. We must have shaken up some algie in the tank. Thinking it was filters we changed them out and still could not get above 1100 rpm. I called my mechanics and they referred me to John at Dana Point Fuel dock. We limped at 8kts to Dana Point arriving at the fuel dock greated by two guys to catch our lines and John came down to inspect our issue. After inspecting the Racor Fuel filters and finding them to be ok we then traced it back to a electric emergency valve that got clogged up. We removed the valve and installed a manual ball valve tested the system and we where back up and running so we could make it back to San Diego. I’m in sales and customer service and had to tell my story and how amazing John and his guys are at Dana Point Fuel Dock. They also had a great store and good prices for fuel. Ian Van Tuyl"
