For those seeking adventure, over 70 miles of hiking trails await, offering varying levels of difficulty and stunning vistas.

Experience the Wilderness:

The park includes the jagged pinnacles of the Boney Mountains State Wilderness Area. Please note that bicycles and dogs are not permitted in this area to preserve its natural beauty. However, dogs on a leash are welcome in the park's day-use areas, campgrounds, and beaches.

Visitor Information:

- Firewood Policy: Burning firewood, Duraflame, and charcoal briquettes in designated fire rings is allowed when fire levels permit. Check the sign near the entrance for daily fire level updates.

- Showers: Enjoy token-operated showers in the park, with token machines accepting only dollar bills. Please bring the exact change, as larger bills cannot be changed on-site.

- Camping Reservations: For online camping reservations, call 1-800-444-7275 (TDD: 1-800-274-7275).

"Came early in the morning, parking was easy. Trail is well maintained. Very steep in some parts. Saw younger kids hiking the trail. I recommend going left at the fork as it is quite steeper on that side, and after the peak you get a much easier hike down with wonderful views to complete the loop. Bring bug spray. Was cloudy when I came, but did start clearing on the way down. There is a notebook on top to write in if you’d like!"

"Great hike! We did a 5 mile loop in the area and enjoyed the great views all around. The start of the trail is steep and later it eases. The parking lot isn't too big but parking on the side of the road is available."
