"This place was great! We stayed for five days and will be coming back soon. The RV spots are a bit unleveled but lots of space to park your travel trailer. We had a bit of ants on our last day and so did our neighbors. There were plenty of spaces available when we were there, not sure how many of those spaces were in working condition. Early morning (530-600) there was lots of activity in the water. I saw seals and dolphins just hanging out in the water. Enjoyed working out in the morning near the water, lots to see and hear. Staff at check in were friendly and helpful. Not much to do on base but you have a small NEX and car wash. The gas station was being repaired during our stay. Overall, our whole family enjoyed our stay and highly recommend you visit."
"We enjoyed staying here- there were a few quirky things (out of anyone’s control.) There were mosquitos and loads of flyover planes from 9pm- 1130pm. It’s a bit of a drive to the notable beaches, but the staff were all great and the restrooms clean. Note the camping spots are first come first serve so all the ones backing to the beach went fast! They also have yurts for rent for similar pricing to the RV lots."
"Beautiful view from the RV Park - our site was 119. Private beach area about a mile long. It's secluded, quiet, and peaceful. Very different than the noise along the camping areas on PCH. Please call the base ahead to get info. We weren't informed by the RV staff about training going on and we were unable to get onto the base during a late afternoon arrival. I had to go to Pass & ID and get cleared. My hubby is a Military Vetetan but I am not."
"Beautiful beach where kids had a lot of fun playing in the sand and body surfing. No air conditioning in the room made getting ready for a wedding difficult in August with two females having to do hair and makeup and four people having to shower. Bathroom was small and had mold behind door, from shower leaking out. Room was sufficient otherwise."
"Great place to see the water! Seems to be a lot of long-term visitors making the water side spots unavailable and RVs with lots of stuff, pet fences, coolers, multiple tables and vehicles. So the view on the beach is awesome, not so much from the RV! The biggest negative has to be the mosquitoes. The installation no longer has a control program due to environmental concerns."
