"Visited this amazing little stand of redwoods yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no poison oak on the trail or anywhere that I could see, even though I geared up for it. It's probably the easiest waterfall I've ever hiked to. Only took a few minutes to get there. Very uneven footing and some steep spots, so bring a walking stick if you need it."
"Your own private grove. Other than this page on Google maps there’s no signs for this short hike into a small redwood grove off the 1. There’s plenty of space for a few cars, you’ll see the small trail leading in once you park. A short whole later you’ll see the sign for the grove"
"Echoing that the Nathaniel Owings Memorial Redwood Grove is a wonderful hidden gem on the side of Hwy 1. Easy quarter mile trail from the highway is a beautiful path of redwood trees, a water stream, and a small waterfall. Not well known -- we were the only ones on the trail while we were out there. Great for kids; our 5 year old did great."
"Beautiful views, always have a great time driving down the California coast. The coastal drive and views are amazing from Monterey all the way down to Morro Bay, especially during sunset."
"Nathaniel Owings Memorial Redwood Grove is a great hidden location on the side of Hwy 1. The Grove is located less than a quarter mile walk from the Hwy and has numerous tall Redwood trees, lush and vibrant plants and flora, and a creek running though the canyon and grove. This is a great location to visit if traveling on Hwy 1 and is very hidden and not as popular of a destination."
