"This trail really has it all (minus cell reception) ! We saw so many wildflowers, so many banana slugs (like 10!) redwoods, oaks, birds, insects, and coastal views! Can’t recommend it enough. Just be careful to stay on the sometimes narrow trail, as I lost my footing at one point. And if you’re scared of heights, just don’t look down haha"
"Check weather and download/bring a map Did a three day backpacking trip and didn’t really go too far. We started at 5pm the first days and did some night hiking 3 miles up to Espinosa Camp. It rained so make sure to prepare for that. Next day we hiked 2 down to Vicente flat camp and set up camp again. We then took our day packs up toward the Goat Camp what we believe to have been about 2-3 more miles and back. Great views up there. Got rained on again that night but this time we where more prepared. Hiked 5miles back down to our car in the morning and got rained on again! So big takeaway is to prepare for rain and know that there is NO service out there. Bring a map or download it on your phone. There are two streams that we where able to retrieve water from. One just past the first camp and the other one we had to hike down the River bed at Vincent flat about a quarter of a mile."
"Possibly the best hike in Big Sur. Very strenuous at times with some unnerving cliff edges if you're not into heights. But once you clear the assent and enter the main canyon the views are wonderful and the larger old growth is revealed. With the effort. Hope to camp their in the future."
"Steep trail with stunning views of the Pacific coast line."
"Trailhead is opposite to kirk-creek campground. Can access restrooms in campground. Street parking for few cars."
