"Gorgeous. Not crowded, plenty of beach (sand), logs, large boulders to sit on and enjoy a windy picnic. We go in April, and the blooms are out and it's nice and sunny. But beware, pretty much always extremely windy. Wear a down jacket or vest with a fleece layer underneath if you get cold easily. And yes, the drive is pretty rough with plenty of potholes, but we find it very worth it to be at a less crowded beach. We found that all the people we encountered here came specifically to bring their dogs."
"The biggest issue is the drive - the road getting there is in poor shape, with many potholes and damaged areas. It is beautiful once you get out to the sand, but a fairly long hike and very, very windy with 100% exposure, so come prepared. The trail and the parking were more crowded than they should have been, but I guess that I came on a weekend. It was worth seeing once, probably won't come back anytime soon though - the drive was long and the road was bad, especially in a larger or older vehicle, which I had. It would be better in a new SUV, but be ready for a rough ride either way. It might be worth it if you're going to spend all day out on the beach, but for me it was just okay, given the time and difficulty of getting there."
"Beautiful! Love the rock formations. Very peaceful and uncrowded when we went. The trail to get there was beautiful, too."
"Beautiful calm beach . Requires a small easy hike to get to the beach . You can see a lot of birds on the way to the beach. This is a hidden gem. Parking is near the trail head and on the road and is very limited with cars zipping past."
"A gentle walk along a trail running above a marshy creek that terminates to a lagoon by the sand dunes. Just below the sand dunes is a very long and wide beach. When we were here it was very isolated and windy. One of the prettiest beaches I’ve seen in Northern California."
