Reviews of Angry Chickz - Thousand Oaks
"The chicken was incredibly tender, and the medium spice level was manageable—I wouldn't mind trying the hot version next time. I also thoroughly enjoyed the fries, and the mac and cheese was particularly impressive—creamy, well-seasoned, and perfectly cheesy. Portions were also very generous."
"Greasy bun, spicy chicken and room temp. Coleslaw was good on the sandwich and the Mac is probably appealing to anyone who likes slimy noodles with lots of gooey liquid oil based cheese. Has a bit of a plastic taste. The skin of the fried chicken sloughs off and has a bit of a limp, wet texture. The sauce on the side is a thick mayonnaise with some paprika and powdered chilli. I was super hungry so I ate it all! Mid quality, pricey but normal for the area and not a nice place to sit unless you’re outside. Staff are friendly though!"
"Finally, I had a chance to try this place. Went around 8:20pm, so there are fewer crowds. Ordered a slider with heat level, hot. The cashier was nice enough to tell me it was ghost pepper hot and confirmed if I wanted it. I like it hot so I started there. Order took no less than 5 minutes. The atmosphere was nice and open with outdoor seating. The slider was good and had good flavor. The chicken was tender and not dry. The batter on the chicken seemed to have come off too easy, but I took it to go, so some of the time sitting in the container could have caused that. The sauce tasted like a smooth thousand island dressing. The chicken was nice and spicy with an after burn. For those who like spicy, you should start here and go up from there. Overall, I will be back to try other items on the menu and try the other levels of hot."
"The chicken sandwiches here are good. If I hadn't had places like Dave's Hot Chicken and Main Chick Hot Chicken, I probably would have rated them 5 stars. The spices weren't as good as other chicken places I've been. I had the hot and x-hot spice levels, which were a little hotter than their counterpart chicken restaurants. Though the heat levels were easily tolerable, the flavor of the spices wasn't as pleasant as other place's. If I eat here again, I will probably try other great levels to see if those taste better. The fries weren't very crispy and were quite disappointing."
"Angry Chickz is a new chain that opened up in the building that once housed pieology a few years ago. This chain follows the current trend of Nashville style hot chicken establishments. The chicken is moist and tender but still maintains a nice even breading. The heat levels are fair, but even mid had a decent kick. So seriously, keep the Nashville style of heat in mind. The fries were nice and crispy. Not soggy nor Luke warm. There was plenty of seating available inside, as well as in their outdoor patio. They also carry more hot sauce ( if heat is truly your thing ) and honey for the honey hot flavor we all have come to love. No ranch tho, so keep that in mind. Prices are fair, and they are open late for those who desire a late night meal."
