Cavaletti Vineyards
About the Business
Welcome to Cavaletti Vineyards, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Moorpark, California. Located at 165 Poindexter Avenue, our establishment is more than just a bar and food destination; it's a journey into the rich tapestry of Los Angeles's wine history. Our story begins in the 18th century, when Spanish missionaries cultivated the first Mission grapes, setting the stage for the region's emergence as a major wine producer.
As proud members of the vibrant Los Angeles wine community, we at Cavaletti Vineyards are excited to share our passion for winemaking and local history. Our dedication to preserving and celebrating this heritage is highlighted in a recent article that delves into the remarkable achievements of the Los Angeles Vintners Association. Among these is the release of a bottling from an 18th-century vine, featuring Angeleno's new bottle of Angelica—a testament to the enduring legacy of our region's winemaking roots.
The urban wine scene in Los Angeles is both surprising and historic, and we are honored to be part of this dynamic landscape. Our story has even caught the attention of Decanter, which recently explored four producers making waves in the City of Angels.
Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Los Angeles wines and join us at Cavaletti Vineyards to experience the flavors that have been centuries in the making. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply curious about our storied past, we invite you to be part of the ongoing renaissance of LA's winemaking tradition. Visit us today and raise a glass to history, innovation, and the exciting future of wine in Los Angeles.

"I love Cavaletti's wine... almost as much as I love Patrick and his team. They are all very knowledgeable and very passionate about wine. A flight in their tasting room always seems to be equal parts history lesson geography lesson and laughter. Couple that with their super rich reds and perfectly balanced whites... you can't really go wrong. Just remember to bring food when you visit! It's easy to over-indulge!"
"Fantastic Wines! Wine maker is so personable, love all the wine making information he bestows. Unpretentious tasting room style makes for a wonderful casual evening. Always one of our go to places."
"Best wine tasting experience short of Napa! I am a red wine “snob” and have fallen in love with Cavaletti’s Arianna Syrah and Alicante Bouschet. I have also really enjoyed their Sangiovese and Nebbiolo. The Founder Patrick is also a very fun and interesting person, I have always enjoyed taking to him about wine, people, horses, you name it!"
"Cavaletti is the hidden gem! By far the best tasting experience we’ve had. Make Cavaletti your favorite, too! The wines are all amazing and the best wine we’ve had (and we do a lot of wine tasting in Southern California). The owner and winemaker, Patrick, is amazing. Best place to hang out on the weekend and we love talking to the winemaker and learning something new every time. It was the only place we felt safe during the pandemic and we are so happy to have found this place and this friendship. Another great part is they are dog friendly!! They provide dog beds, water, and treats. Our dog loves to pretend that he’s the winery dog."
"Had the most amazing time at our wine tasting. We bought more than a few bottles as they were top notch. Also the staff was so knowledgeable and shared with us the process of how they made their wine and also went the extra mile - as I told them that the reservation was for a birthday and they surprised us with chocolate cupcakes!"
