"Please avoid working with this Property Management service. The owner (Shelley) was extremely unprofessional from the start of our relationship. My wife and I were moving to the Fort Myers area and contacted Shelley after viewing a rental property on Zillow. The property was in a good area and had many of the features we were looking for. After calling Shelley to request a viewing, she instructed that we put down a refundable deposit to take the house off the various marketing portal sites so that another person could not rent the house during the time we traveled to Fort Myers to view the house and make a decision to proceed with the lease agreement. After visiting the property, it was clear that the owner nor Shelley had kept up with maintenance of the house, as walls needed painted, the surrounding fence was in shambles, the electric window shutters did not work, yard was destroyed, pests control was non existent, etc. Upon recording all of the damages and sending them to Shelley, she responded with sending me the lease agreement draft. After reading the draft, it was apparent that there was no legal counsel involved in drafting the lease (even though I had to pay $100 for attorney fees). There were numerous errors, typos, and blatant ignorance to proper lease guidelines. After requesting that every error be corrected on the lease and for written documentation that the house fixes would be addressed, Shelley responded via email "lol... not going to happen." She continued to hold on to our "refundable" deposit as payment for the short period of time (5 days) the house was off the online portals. After 2 months of repeated attempts to get our deposit back, Shelley finally informed us that she had sent back our deposit to the WRONG PERSON and that they wouldn't send back the check. Luckily I was able to work with my bank to report the cashier's check as stolen and it was ultimately refunded back to me. This woman has no regard for professionalism, and I would argue that she has ill intentions in her business conduct."
