Cheeks + Co Pasadena

"3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for my facialist, Maria, who was excellent and very kind! Cheeks + Co, Pasadena is a super cute facial and waxing studio. It’s clean, chic, and has a nicely curated set of products available for purchase. The studio smells really nice and is in a wonderful location. My main complaint is that the walls of each of the treatment cubicles do not reach the ceilings and the noise disrupted the experience. Throughout the hour, I could hear the desk attendant assisting other customers. The studio music was also very lively (70s rock - good taste), but I prefer more soothing music in my self-care sessions. For this price, I would have also hoped for a little more variety in my treatment. My last facial at a private esthetician was the same price, but included dermaplaning, ice globes, and a honey mask in addition to the standard cleanse, extraction, enzyme treatment, and moisturizer. Maria focused on massage for a large portion of the treatment, but I think I would have rather had an additional facial service alongside my microcurrent and gua sha. But again, I can’t say enough good things about Maria. She was kind, soothing, and clearly experienced. I appreciated her customization of the facial based on my needs. And while I likely would go back to the mentioned private esthetician, I would be happy to book with her again."

"The estheticians are amazing, and I have no negative feedback regarding their work. However, my wife and I both had memberships, and we were disappointed to learn that sessions expire. While I understand this is a policy matter, the lack of follow-up emails reminding us about expiring sessions negatively impacts the customer experience. We have lost two or more sessions, which represents a significant amount of money, simply because there are no reminders. It would be helpful to receive notifications to avoid this issue. We canceled our membership for this exact reason."

"So expensive for how inaffective it was. It’s great if you just want some pampering because it is very relaxing but I wanted some extraction for my acne prone skin and I came home and it appear like not a single clogged poor was worked on. I’m super disappointed and will never go again. The girl was super sweet and nice but this didn’t feel personalized at all. Save your money."

"UPDATE: After I posted my review, Tina, the owner, contacted me and extended an offer to make things right. I decided to give it another shot. Despite the inconvenience of returning for a service I had already paid for, Tina made sure it was worthwhile. The facial this time was exactly what I had originally hoped for but hadn't received. She genuinely cared about my experience and eagerly listened to my feedback to improve their services. Tina's effort left me feeling valued and optimistic about future visits. Thank you :) Disappointed. Asked for extractions and hardly got any. Gua sha felt too delicate and ineffective. Left feeling moisturized and $200 poorer - on my birthday no less. Wish I spent that money on something else. Won’t be back!"

"Service: Female Brazilian wax Glow giver: Elva First time tried Brazilian wax at Cheeks + Co and Elva is awesome. It took her about 20 minutes to finish the session, so I was in and out less than 30 minutes. Their team is easy to work with and communicate with me very well before the appointment. Elva was nice and professional. The studio is very clean and clam. Would love to be back for a facial for sure. Parking: Parking is easy enough, plenty of street parking on Friday evening. There’s also a schoolhouse parking garage nearby as well."
