HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital Emergency Room

"Do not go here if you are female, fat, or over fifty. Your medical complaint will be minimized and incorrectly treated. Over $4,000 in an ER visit that lasted less than three hours only to be given muscle relaxers for back pain and Tylenol. I have a history of diverticulitis and these people chose to do a no contrast CT instead of the correct one for diverticulitis patients - WITH CONTRAST - which will show what parts of the intestinal system is inflamed and infected requiring intravenous antibiotics."

"So giving a rating seems strange for an ER, but while on vacation on Hutchinson island we had a medical emergency. We received incredible care here. Every member of staff including security guards was efficient. Kind and helpful. Team did what was necessary, and explained the details."

"Emergency Room in my case cost me 3 hrs of my time, and ZERO help. And a charge of $120 for an X-Ray that was not needed. And calling their Billing cost me another 40 minutes, and a promise from a remote call-center contractor to file my claim for the refund. Total, complete disaster. UPD: A month later: my insurance company was billed some $5000 for my "visit", and wants me to cover over 50% of that amount. And I had NO HELP WHATSOEVER, WASTED 3 hrs of my time, didn't even get a Tylenol pill for the pain. I just left since they said they were not going to help in any way. Is it a good case for a fraudulent activities charges??"

"Years ago I wouldn’t have recommended this place to anyone. Now however, I have went back on two different occasions and I am absolutely amazed at how well this place has become! My last visit was on Tuesday 3/12/24 and the staff were beyond amazing!! Probably my first time EVER that I was treated like an actual person and not made to feel stupid for coming in. Huge shout out to my nurse Kate (I hope was her name) and both of my doctors. All of you should feel proud of how you make your patients feel. Thank you!!!!!"

"There are 3 critical things that are important when you go to an ER. 1 is that you are checked in quickly and assured you are not going to die. 2 is that they see you in a reasonably appropriate amount of time, and 3 is that the doctor properly diagnoses you. I am incredibly happy to report that St. Lucie ER got 5 stars on all these 3 critical points. Thanks so much for letting me know my "spider bite" was shingles! Glad I didn't try to play doctor and mix a natural remedy to try and heal myself. Thank you so much!! I am feeling so much better 3 days letter with the medication. You guys rock!"
