"Waste of time and gas. I have tried to donate 3 times over the last two months. Two of the times were at the mobile donation center. The first time I was told I had not eaten recently enough. This is after I went through twenty minutes of blood pressure checks and sitting around. They should have turned me away immediately if that was the case. The second time I was turned away because my blood pressure was over by two points. I tried to explain I was feeling well and had a high red blood cell count which my doctor believed was the cause of the increase of blood pressure. My doctor wanted me to try and donate blood before making a decision on whether blood pressure medication was needed. They still turned me away. Today was the third time. I went to the blood donation center in Orange park this morning and was turned away because I did not have an appointment according to the lady. There was nobody else waiting to donate. So then she mentioned they were still waiting for the appointment holder to show up. Why bother advertising walk ins welcomed. Why bother calling and emailing me nonstop to please donate just so I can be turned away. I won't be returning a fourth time. Not going to keep wasting my time or gas."
"I’m a frequent donor and have only had a couple of times where things didn’t go smoothly hitting a vein. Yesterday Brandy drew my blood and it was the best experience ever. Taken in on time and hit the vein without fuss or pain and out the door."
"Talking or joking with friends / family is not acceptable in the lobby, even quietly. You can’t sit with your loved ones when they’re donating. Very disrespectful about this as well. The front desk lady was rather nice, and seemed fine by both things. The lady doing the blood however was very nasty and vocally rude. She was acting like a teacher reprimanding students. We are adults. Doing something we don’t even have to, to help out. If you’re gonna be a jerk, people aren’t going to give blood anymore. Teagan was super nice. She’s the only reason we stayed. She needs a raise, Shirley needs fired."
"I must redo my review after the very effective response from administration at OneBlood. A huge thank you to Mr. Cherry for seeing to it that my issue was addressed. Thank you Sir as well as thank you to the nice lady who assisted with my account issue."
"I went to Oneblood Donation Center located at 2153 Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park , Florida in anticipation of donating blood plasma and getting paid for my donation . The lady at the front desk told me that they don't do blood plasma donations , only whole blood donations and that they don't pay for donations . She did suggest Octapharma Plasma on Loch Rane Blvd. to donate blood plasma and that they pay their donors . The bad thing is that I went to Octapharma Plasma first and they rejected me as their upper cut-off age limit is 70 years old and I am 72 years old and they made no exceptions due to their corporate policy ."
