Reviews of Cypress Meadows Community Church
"My family arrived at Cypress in October ‘22, and we feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of this beautiful church. One thing we experienced, and so many others have mentioned, is the warm welcome and genuine love when we first arrived on our campus. It’s like we had always belonged here! And one thing I find unique about Cypress is that we truly mean it when we say that our doors are wide open to everyone. I love our focus on reaching the next generation, and our heart for kids in Haiti and Kenya. Cypress is a church devoted to living out the teachings of Jesus in a way that makes a real difference in peoples’ lives and in our community, and that’s the kind of church I’ve always wanted to be a part of. There’s always room for more, and everyone—and we mean EVERYONE—is welcome."
"We came to this place looking for a home church since moving to the area one month ago. We were hopeful after reading this church’s beliefs and standards online but were very disappointed in the service as it did not align. During worship, the songs seemed okay but no one was actually worshipping. The message was extremely disappointing as it was hardly scripture based. They only cherry-picked some bible verses to fit the overall message but sometimes didn’t even read the full verse. There was not one bible in sight in the congregation or on stage with the pastor. This is not the solid bible teaching church we were hoping for. I recommend steering clear as this church may have nice people, but they are not moving in the right direction."
"From the moment you arrive Pastor Douglas and his lovely wife Jackie are there to greet you...personally, HONEST! They wait outside for you. Both of them...together. They smile, shake your hand and even HUG if you're a hugger. The sanctuary is cozy and bright. We have a view of the lake and fountain outside from our seats. We love the individual chairs as we pull apart slightly for some elbow room. Our grandkids like the stadium seating at the rear of the sanctuary...like the movies. So far, the praise and worship music has been phenomenal. A nice mix of hymns (my favorite) and more contemporary songs (my husband's favorite). It's easy to catch the beat, learn the songs and slip away into praise and worship. Did I mention the people?!? SO NICE and FRIENDLY. We've met: Carlos, Lynn, Gina, Mike, Michelle, Gabriel, Bob, Linda and others. We know their names because they introduced themselves to us. Carlos and crew even invited us to join them for lunch this past Sunday after church, Bob and crew shared their table with us during a casual lunch after church three Sundays ago. We are new in town from MI and barely knew anyone at Cypress when we walked in. We truly feel like we're home. So HAPPY! I should probably mention that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit attend regularly too!! Cypress is in line with our beliefs, morals, values, ethics and service orientated walk with the Lord! Very Respectfully, Victoria and Gerald Music"
"I encourage anyone seeking an inspiring worship experience to explore Cypress Meadows’ online opportunities and to attend the Sunday morning 9:15 services on the lawn. (In an abundance of caution, which I appreciate, services and classes have been held outdoors or via technology during the pandemic.) I did a lot of “church shopping” when moving to the area but kept returning to Cypress Meadows. I was attracted by Pastor Douglas Poole’s personalized and relevant teachings, and by the joyful music. I could also see that the staff work as a tight team to create meaningful gatherings and mission projects, and to unite “their diverse tribe.” I enjoy the friendly, casual atmosphere and also the class offerings."
"I started attending Cypress in early December and was immediately welcomed with open arms. The members immediately took me in like I was family. After the Saturday service, we all hang out on the patio (usually with snacks) and connect with one another. Pastor Douglas keeps the teachings relevant so you can apply them to your every day life. One last thing, the band is absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a church that really gives back to the community and wants to make a difference in the world, I promise you won't be disappointed with Cypress!"
