Reviews of Collier County Library - Headquarters Branch
"I was incredibly disheartened by my visit to the library with my young children today. I recently moved to Naples from Tennessee where the library was one of my favorite places to bring my 3 children. The Tennessee libraries are forgiving with returning books late, I have never once been charged a late fee. Today I was very surprised to discover that I owed $90 in late fees for returning my childrens' books a few days late. I spoke with the supervisor to explain that we had been out of town and I didn't realize the late fee policy, but she responded with harshness. I am fine to pay the late fee but the premise is that I did not feel kindness or grace or encouragement in a place that I believe should embody those qualities, while instilling a love for reading and checking out books, especially for young new readers. I'd expect some understanding or at least a "one time forgiveness" for a mom who is new to the area and rental policies. It makes me very sad to not want to return to this library."
"It was my mistake to forget my library card today, but it made my daughter very sad that the babies donated to make the children happy were not given. They also know we have a membership they can see that in the system and give me book. We came here every week. I offered to give my driver's license but it was not accepted Her friend took the doll and played with it, and my daughter was very upset."
"I always enjoy coming to this library with my children for storytime. The staff do a pretty good job reading books to keep the children's attention as well as singing songs and doing crafts. The children's area is always clean and the staff is pretty attentive to picking up books and toys that are placed all around by the kids. Everyone is very respectful about obeying the rules and staying quiet."
"Wonderful place! So many books, videos, CDs, audio books, music! I love the tranquil courtyard. It's so refreshing and quiet. There are tables and chairs leading into the entrance of the library and around the perimeter of the courtyard where you can enjoy yourself and take a moment. It is beautifully, thoughtfully landscaped. You can indulge in the courtyard before or after leaving the library. The children's section is really good and they have special programs just for kids. Inside the main library in the adult section, there's an area where you can put together puzzles and you can color in an adult coloring book."
"Amazing library. I always get really good customer service there. While the selection is not like the main branch in a big city, most of the titles you'd ever want can be put on order. What's more, a card here gives you access to thousands of e-books through a variety of different apps. Great kid section. One area for younger kids and one area for teens. Also, you can always see tutors at work with students in the study area. There is a really great outdoor foyer here, too. Surprised this place doesn't host weddings."
