"Well, it's not Preferred Community Bank any more, it's Achieva Credit Union. It's nice to go to a bank where everybody knows you, and you are greeted by name when you walk in the door(Cheers), but this is not the case any more. I use several local banks, and this was, by far, the most friendly. Not so much now. Still a good bank."
"I came here to the drive through and was told since my check was such a large amount ($1400) that she needed to count it "by hand" so I needed to come in because I don't bank w/ them...if I come in you're going to have to "count it by hand" anyways so that didn't make sense. the check clearly said "PREFERRED COMMUNITY BANK" because my employer has been a client of theirs for over 20 years. it took her over 15 minutes for her to cash it because she proceeded to say things like "I'm sorry, I've just never seen a check like this before", as if to insinuate it was fake. I told her I always go through the drive through in the Cape and they never have an issue as long as I have my ID. She gave me a half ass excuse saying they're not supposed to do it. Just little snide comments here and there that seriously makes me wonder if it had been a white person, would they have received the same treatment? most likely not!!"
