"I was a frequent summer kid here back in elementary and middle school. Really heartbroken to hear this place has closed. I remember it struggling a lot but honestly this place was absolutely amazing and it's heavily shaped who I am today and my interest in science/math/ really anything that I had a summer camp in for all those years. Sad to see it's "temporarily closed" as google says. -Caleb. (Edit: apparently they've re opened!!! I need to head on over!)"
"I came here every summer as a child, from 2003-2010. Wonderful place, and the people there were really amazing. I vividly remember outside time when they would bring out hammy the pig, we loved hammy! I always got the chick fil a nuggets for lunch, and I got to experience so many different animals. I remember the baby gators, the pygmy owls, the giant touch tank, sea horses and puffer fish, and so many more. And the little arcade room outside was so fun! I begged my dad every morning for a couple quarters for the candy machine. Then in the aftercare section after camp we played space invaders or pong on the computers, put together Legos, or watched TV. One day at camp we were on the news and I thought it was so cool, I remember when they put it on the TV and the newscaster said we were all cute kids. And how could I forget the fishing camp or the canoe camp! One of the camp counselors was really my best friend. I dropped my sunglasses in the water one day when we were out fishing and I was so upset, but he told me funny jokes about his goldfish until I felt better. The camp counselors were truly amazing. They really sparked my love for exotic animals and science, and now I work in veterinary medicine. I'm so happy to see it restored and I'm so excited to see what's next for them. Running this center is really an investment in our community!"
"Is this place still open? Lots of great online press about it, but no website or working phone number. Looking for a local planetarium..."
