"Went to my local Show Dept in Andalusia Al to exchange a pair of shoes I bought. The employee told me I could not get a refund because the shoes had been on layaway. I told her what difference does it make, I purchased the shoes. She processed to grab her phone and texted someone. In a few minutes after hearing from whomever she texted, she told me that I had to GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL STORE I GOT THEM FROM!! She told me she could NOT give me a refund on shoes that were in layaway. Once again I told her I have NEVER EVER heard of that because I PURCHASED THEM. So I asked for her name, the store manager and the district managers name plus the corporate phone number. She had to "go to the back" and FIND the corporate number so in the meantime I googled the complaint line and called. I was told that there WAS NOT A POLICY in place that stated that you CAN NOT return shoes that had been on layaway AND you DID NOT have to go back to the store you purchased them! By this time I was SO past ticked off I drove the 53 miles ONE WAY to return the shoes to the Defuniak Springs FL store. The girls down there took care of my returns without a hassle. Also the Andalusia employee said that if I returned them I could only get a store credit which was ANOTHER LIE! Defuniak Springs gave me back my cash money with a SMILE!! And just like the last review that was posted on here, the reason why I even WENT to Defuniak Springs was because I had just been in the Andalusia store during the week. I too walked in the store and the employee was standing at the register talking to an ex-employee. He did not stop his conversation to speak or acknowledge me! They continued with their conversation. Two other ladies came in a few minutes after me and the employee STILL did not stop talking to greet anyone. At that point I just left. I guess the Andalusia Shoe Dept has turned into a "Self Serving" company with no customer service skills. I NEVER should have had to drive 53 miles to do a return on shoes when the policy clearly states on your website "You can make a return at ANY Shoe Dept store and that the return would be treated as if you bought it from that store". To be honest, I do not fault the employee because she was only doing what she was taught and told to do. I fault management because apparently they are making up policies that does not line up with BASIC corporate policies and allowing poor customer service to continue at this location. How long does this have to go on before something is done? Why should I have to drive 53'miles to another location to shop when I live 2.8 miles away from a Shoe Dept???!!!!"

"Went in the store today and saw one employee working. She was on her cell phone talking about her boyfriend trading his car, when I walked in. She didn’t even acknowledge that I had entered the store. I decided to leave after I realized I wasn’t getting any help. Went to leave and sarcastically thanked the clerk, who was still on her phone. Poor customer service!!!"

"No service to disabled senior citizen. 3 people working in store and no one took time to help find a pair shoes. Just so flustered. I should take shoe back for refund today. No customer service. Really Rude!!!"

"3 people on staff, and no one offered to help. I tried to ask a guy about a shoe, he just said other shoes (one missing in box) was either on display or in back, he said let me get by you, he used ladder to put a box up next to where I am looking at shoe, then turned around and did not help. The store has good variety, but staff doesn't want to help you."
